Acceleration Lab - Acceleration due to Gravity (g)
If a body is falling freely or moving upward, then the
acceleration in it is due to gravity. Its value (9.8
m/s2) is constant on earth surface and does not
depend upon the mass of falling body
The value of acceleration due to gravity is different on moon
and planets
If body is falling, its speed is continuously increasing due to
gravitational acceleration.
If a body is falling, its acceleration is taken as positive
If body is going upward, its speed is continuously decreasing
due to gravitational acceleration.
If a body is going upward, its acceleration is taken as negative
