Acceleration Lab - Acceleration due to Gravity (g)

• If a body is falling freely or moving upward, then the acceleration in it is due to gravity. Its value (9.8 m/s²) is constant on earth surface and does not depend upon the mass of falling body
• The value of acceleration due to gravity is different on moon and planets
• If body is falling, its speed is continuously increasing due to gravitational acceleration.
• If a body is falling, its acceleration is taken as positive
• If body is going upward, its speed is continuously decreasing due to gravitational acceleration.
• If a body is going upward, its acceleration is taken as negative

$$ Distance = speed \times time$$ $$ displacement = velocity \times time$$ $$a=\frac{v_{f}-v_{i}}{t}$$
